Downhole Slotted Screen Filter
Novomet’s downhole slotted filter is an intake device designed to protect ESP parts from large amounts of proppant. Downhole slotted screen filters are ESP components assembled with protectors and lower pump sections.
Fluid filtration takes place through the slotted screen when the particles are caught in-between the slots. These particles are separated from the smooth filter surface and deposited into the dib hole. Filtration rating depends on the gaps between the slots and varies between 100–300 mkm.
The shaft has a spiral blade at the slotted screen filter base that creates ascending fluid flows and prevents particle settling.
The downhole slotted screen filter is completed with a bypass valve that opens when the filter collects almost all of the proppant after well start-up.
Downhole slotted screen filters are manufactured in 338, 362, and 406 series. The length is chosen according to ESP flow rates, from 380 to 3800 bpd.
Downhole Slotted Gravitation Filter (SGFD)
Novomet’s downhole slotted hydrocyclone filter (SGFD) ensures the stable operation of ESP systems in welsl with high solid content, represented by sand and proppant. SGFD has a slotted filter device, where the bypass tube has a hydrocyclonic separator instead of valve. Geometrical parameters of slotted filters and separators are chosen based on conditions of hydraulic resistance. Reservoir fluid is treated mainly through the slotted filter, with a filtering capacity of 100–300 mkm. When the filter is clogged by solids and scales, flow passes through the separator and solids of more than 200 mkm are retained. Collected solids settle in the container or dib hole.
Downhole Slotted Screen filter (SFD)
Novomet’s downhole slotted screen filter (SFD) ensures the stable operation of ESP systems in wells complicated by sand and proppant, including deviated and horizontal wells. Our SFD consists of a slotted screen, positive seal unit, bypass valve, and downhole centralizer. Slot sizes and filtering capacity vary in the range 70–300 mkm. As soon as slots are clogged by solids or cemented by scales, the valve opens. Reservoir fluid flow continuity is retained and motor overheating is prevented. Novomet produces SFDs of 272, 362, and 406 series. The length of the filter is chosen in accordance with a submersible pump capacity, which varies between 150–30000 bpd.
