SHEAR-OUT SAFETY JOINT
The Novomet shear-out safety joint enables easy release and retrieval of the tubing string in completions where retrieval problems are anticipated. It is placed between a packer and a sand screen to provide a quick means to release and retrieve the production string in challenging situations. It compensates for string landing hydraulic conditions and harsh situations created by well treatment for safe recovery.

Use the Novomet shear-out safety joint to release the tubing from a fixed or trapped lower completion in cases where the string cannot be retrieved smoothly. You can retrieve the partial string located above the safety joint and easily fish the rest.
